Introduction:
In observance of World Hepatitis Day 2025, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing, in collaboration with the Trained Nurses Association of India (Delhi Branch) and ECHO India, organised a virtual program (online Zoom Webinar) titled “World Hepatitis Day: Nursing Insights.”
Aim:
The event aimed to raise awareness among nursing professionals about hepatitis prevention, early detection, and the vital role of nurses in liver health.

Session Details:
Hepatitis, a group of infectious diseases affecting the liver, continues to be a global health concern. With this year’s theme, “Let’s Break It Down,” the session focused on demystifying hepatitis-related stigma, promoting vaccination, and strengthening preventive care through the nursing workforce.
- The session began with an introduction by Mrs. Madhumita Dey, Associate Professor & Head of Department (HOD), Continuing Education Department, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing, followed by,
- Welcome address given by Dr. Daisy Thomas, Acting Vice Principal, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing & Chairperson, Nursing Education & Research Committee, TNAI Delhi State Branch
- Dr. Sandeep Bhalla, Vice President, ECHO India, delivered the Special Address
- Mrs. Yangchen Dolma, President, TNAI – Delhi State Branch, delivered the Presidential Address
- A keynote address was delivered by Dr. Achala, Assistant Director General (Nursing), DGHS, MoHFW, highlighting the national vision on hepatitis control and the frontline role of nurses.
- The program addressed a case presentation by Ms. Shanu, Senior Nursing Officer, VMMC & SJH, which sparked interactive engagement from attendees.
- The session on “Nursing Insights” was taken by Dr. Mini George, Principal, College of Nursing, ILBS, New Delhi, who shared in-depth knowledge about the burden of Hepatitis, its disease aspect, diagnostic and preventive strategies, clinical care with special emphasis on comprehensive nursing action at various capacities.

Question / Answer Session:
This session witnessed participants’ insightful questions, particularly around Hepatitis Vaccination Protocols and Practices.
