TOPIC: “Strengthening Diagnostic Process – A Foundation for Safer     Patient Care”

OCCASION:  World Patient Safety Day – 2024

Overview:

The Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Delhi State Branch, organised a World Patient Safety Day webinar titled “Strengthening Diagnostic Processes—A Foundation for Safer Patient Care.” Around 50 Nursing Officers from different hospitals in New Delhi actively participated in the online event.

Program Highlights:

  • The webinar commenced at 6:30 PM with a warm welcome and introduction by the moderator, Mr Man Singh Jat, Co-coordinator for the Webinar session and Chairperson of the Nursing Service Committee, TNAI Delhi State Branch.
  • The Keynote Address was delivered by Ms Yangchen Dolma, President of TNAI Delhi State Branch, who highlighted the significance of World Patient Safety Day and emphasized the need to strengthen diagnostic processes to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • The Special Address was presented by Ms. Annie Kumar, Vice President for North Region, who underscored the importance of diagnostics.

Webinar Sessions:

  • Session 1:

 Mrs. Ashly Mathew, Chairperson for Program Committee, TNAI Delhi State Branch, who is currently working as a Nursing Officer in Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, New Delhi, elaborated on the topic of “The diagnostic process for Safer Patient Care” in improving patient safety, emphasizing accuracy, timeliness, and coordination among healthcare professionals.


  • Session 2:

 Mr Pramod V., Nursing Officer from the Quality Cell at Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, New Delhi, shared insights on “Innovative diagnostic technologies and the Role of Nurses” in implementing and supporting these processes for safer patient care.

Vote of Thanks:

The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr V. Indumathy, Secretary of TNAI Delhi State Branch, who thanked the speakers, participants, and organisers for their contributions and active participation.

Summary:

The webinar witnessed the active participation of nursing professionals and healthcare experts in emphasizing the importance of diagnostic accuracy and strengthening diagnostic processes to ensure patient safety. The sessions provided innovative approaches and highlighted nurses’ integral role in achieving safer and more effective patient care.
